Local art gallery celebrates another successful event in partnership with world renowned artist Michelle Mackie

The pioneering partnership between local art gallery Windermere Fine Art and artist Michelle Mackie celebrate their latest success in the return of their annual summer event.

The 2025 Summer Launch Show invited collectors, art-admirers and the local community to come together and celebrate the world renowned artist’s newest collection, ‘The Dreaming Collection’, exhibiting her latest work such as Adrift, Obscured, Man in the Moon and more.

Michelle Mackie, also known as Dolly, has developed her surrealist artistic vision over the last ten years, producing storytelling through a blend of photography and digital art. Several of her pieces have even included inspiration from Windermere Lake, which has captured the admiration of not only local Lake District residents, but art collectors across the world.

Windermere Fine Art and Michelle Mackie have been proud partners since the gallery’s opening in 2020, hosting events annually for the past few years in the launch of her newest collections.

Mackie’s artistic process involves each piece being pre-conceptualised from dreams Mackie has experienced, bringing them to life through stitching layers of photos together and digital art to add texture and depth.

Mackie is thrilled by the success of the latest event, adding “These events hold a special place in my heart. It’s a fantastic opportunity to have people coming together for the enjoyment of art, and I am so thankful that the reason is towards my own work.”

“I love learning what people enjoy seeing, how it speaks to them and often sharing similar emotions that I had felt when creating the piece. The events undoubtedly gives me more inspiration for future pieces, and truly excites me for what I can create next.”

Her unique vision and artistic talent stands out among the crowd, encompassing emotions in a way most of us have never felt before when admiring art.

“When we started these events, we were quick to realise the impact she makes with her art. Since then, she has built loyal admirers across the local community, and its amazing to see how much she has brought everyone together as such with these events.”

Local hotel, Jerichos Guest House, have been long-term admirers of Mackie’s work and were excited to join the latest event. Owner Steve Hallsworth adds, “We love Dolly’s work and it’s absolutely made an impact on our hotel. Art is always a conversation opener, and we have often found our guests admiring Mackie’s work – much like ourselves. It’s not a surprise we will have guests ask more about the pieces, and we are so happy to share that moment of admiration with them. Mackie has truly brought the community together.”
