David Allen

David has painted since a teenager. He worked as a draughtsman and land surveyor from the age of sixteen and then as a chartered civil engineer until 1989 when he became a full time painter.
He works in pastels and oils, painting small studies en plein air and larger works in his Yorkshire studio. He is an elected member (1998) of the Fylingdales Group of Artists based in Whitby and is also an elected member (2006) of the Royal Society of Marine Artists based at the Mall Galleries
