Illuminati Neon is a British contemporary neon artist (born Mark Sloper) whose electrifying work bridges the energy of punk rebellion with luminous craftsmanship and cultural commentary. Working from his West London and Marlow studios, Illuminati Neon’s artworks are handmade using traditional blown neon glass, distressed vintage materials and bold colour to create pieces that both illuminate and provoke.

Drawing on lifelong connections to the UK’s punk and rock scenes, Illuminati Neon’s creative journey includes early involvement with musicians and cultural icons, and his neon artworks reflect that raw, defiant spirit. His use of old flags, clothing and historic ephemera combined with neon lighting results in works that fuse heritage, attitude and contemporary design.

Illuminati neon’s works have been collected and admired by musicians, actors and creative figures across the globe, with pieces held in private collections alongside notable collectors such as Sir Elton John, Sting and Boy George. His punk-inspired portrait of Queen Elizabeth II — featuring bold colour, regal iconography and playful visual flourishes — was famously acknowledged by the late monarch, marking one of the most memorable moments of his career. His striking neon portrait depicting Queen Elizabeth II adorned with tattoo-style detailing became the subject of national press coverage, including a feature in The Sun newspaper. The artwork sparked conversation around tradition, rebellion and modern British identity, further cementing Illuminati Neon’s reputation as an artist unafraid to challenge convention through light, symbolism and visual impact.
